When the largest family history event in the world convenes at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, it will no doubt be the first time for many to ever attend a RootsTech event.
is a 3-day event offering more than 200 classes; an expo hall of hundreds of exhibitors and sponsors, including interactive booths to assist in your family history journey; general sessions with well-known and inspiring speakers; and entertaining events at the end of each day.
This will be the fifth annual RootsTech conference. It offers the perfect place to discover and share your family's stories and connections through technology.
A World of Firsts
For the first time the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS) and RootsTech are teaming up for a one-time special genealogy event, February 11–14, 2015.
FGS and RootsTech will share the expo hall, general sessions, activities, and more while each conference offers their own program of sessions. FGS sessions will focus on methodology, records, ethnic research, and migration for honing your research skills and society issues to motivate and inspire society volunteers. RootsTech will offer a program of technology-based solutions for the genealogy needs of both individuals and societies.
New Photo Scanning Kiosk to Debut
Another first at RootsTech 2015 will be the introduction of the Scannx Photo ScanCenter.
new addition to Scannx's line-up of library technology
harnesses the power of its easy-to-use, interactive touchscreen interface with the Kodak Picture Saver Scanning Systems photo scanners, model PS50 & PS80. The Scannx Photo ScanCenters will be available for attendees to use and scan their personal family photos at E-Z Photo Scan's Expo Hall Booth #1343.
This versatile tool has the ability to scan up to 85 photos per minute and doubles as a scanner for treasured documents, too. It's fluid touchscreen interface guides the user seamlessly through the scanning process: setting up preferred file formats/file names, choosing document capture options like scan quality/color depth and designating document delivery destinations. It can even directly load scanned photos into FamilySearch.org!
"The world's first Scannx Photo ScanCenter has been installed at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City for just about 2 months. Its real-time reporting and tangible metrics available using our Scannalytics has provided a very clear insight into how it is being used by library patrons. In just its first month of use, more than 10,000 photos were scanned by over 200 patrons."
reports John Dexter, Scannx president & COO.

Imaging has been a part of my entire life.
I remember working with my Daddy in a make-shift darkroom we would rig up in our house on weekends to develop b/w photos when just a kid. Later on, my professional career path had me performing medical imaging of the human body using million dollar cameras.
i/oTrak, has made an art of imaging and managing photographs and documents since 1995. We got our start in scanning documents by first working with medical documents from healthcare facilities throughout the United States. After imaging hundreds of millions of content-sensitive paper documents, i/oTrak formed its E-Z Photo Scan group
Now, as President of i/oTrak, Inc., we continue the art of imaging with our newest business group...E-Z Photo Scan.
